Halloween is fun for my family! We have a great time getting dressed up, decorating, and playing games together. Making something that doesn’t cost a lot of money is even more fun!
If you want to do some cheap Halloween crafts and activities with your family, here are six ideas:
1. Creature bowling
Paint old coffee cans to look like animals and use them for something else! It could be any round jar or can. Giving kids a stencil to use while they paint is best for little ones. You can wrap an old terry cloth around the can to make the mummy. If you add a ball to bowl with, you have a Halloween game!
2. Bats on the wall
It’s easy to make bat decorations! Print out the bats and cut them out of black cardstock paper. Fold the bat in half across the middle and the top half of the wings in the opposite direction to make it look like it’s three-dimensional.
3. Spooky cauldron
No fun is greater than putting your hand into cooked noodles to get a “prize.” Toys like eyeballs and spider rings are fun to look for.
4. Ghost suckers
As a kid, I made these a lot, and now the whole family loves them! Cover a sucker with a piece of paper, tie it up, and add eyes. I tied mine with thread, so you can’t tell. Also, these are a lot of fun to hand out on Halloween!
5. Monster playdough
Because my daughter loves making monsters out of playdough, I gave her some things to use. A pipe cleaner made the arms, and pom-pom balls made the feet and ears. You can give these out instead of candy for Halloween by putting them all in a plastic zipper bag. The coolest thing is seeing how creative she can be!
6. Ghost balloons
Use a balloon and streamers to make a 3D ghost! For the face, use a Sharpie, stencils, or tape on construction paper that has already been cut out. Tape makes it easy to attach the streamers to the balloon.
