A federal judge has blocked Trump's policies targeting transgender minors and gender-affirming care

Duluth, Minnesota – According to the Minnesota Attorney General, a federal judge granted Minnesota’s request for a preliminary injunction on Friday night to prevent President Trump’s illegal Executive Orders from denying trans youth life-saving medical care.

The injunction will be valid for the duration of the state’s lawsuit challenging the orders.

Since Trump issued his executive order, the state has argued that it violates the fifth amendment right to equal protection by singling out trans people.

Minnesota Attorney General Ellison stated that gender affirming care is evidence-based, provided by trained medical professionals, and given in close consultation with a parent or guardian, and that Trump’s actions are illegal and grossly immoral.

Minnesota was not the only state to challenge Trump’s illegal executive orders. Washington, Oregon, and Colorado have all joined in.

According to the Attorney General’s office, the Court went on to strongly caution the federal government against making baseless and “bad faith” threats to criminalize medically necessary gender-affirming care.
