A Florida man was arrested at an auto-parts store in Georgia after being heard “barking like a dog” for over an hour.
According to an incident report obtained by Law&Crime from the Forsyth Police Department, the owner of Forsyth’s Advanced Auto Parts store called police to report a white male who had “been at the store for over an hour and was barking like a dog.”
When officers arrived and confronted the man, who was identified as 29-year-old Jonathan Navas, they inquired about the situation. He responded that “he had no idea that he was causing any issues,” according to the incident report.
Forsyth police officers asked Navas for identification, and he stated that his driver’s license was in his car in the parking lot outside. Navas was escorted out of the store.
Officers say they found “a clear baggie containing syringes” on Navas’ passenger seat, one of which was filled with a clear substance.
A search of the vehicle began, which resulted in the recovery of another bag. This one contained “a clear crystal substance,” according to the incident report.
Officers conducted a field test and discovered that the substance was methamphetamine.
Navas was eventually taken into custody. After gathering more identifying information, police discovered a warrant for his arrest in his home state of Florida.
Dispatchers in Monroe County confirmed the warrant while Navas sat in the back of a squad car.
When one of the officers asked Navas what the substance in the syringe was, he allegedly replied, “blood.”
Police confiscated the baggies as evidence and brought Navas to the Monroe County Detention Center. According to the incident report, Florida was ready to take Navas back.
