A two-month-old baby boy died in Colorado, and the mother and her boyfriend were jailed

Law enforcement reports that a two-month-old boy died after coming into contact with meth.

The Lakewood Police Department shared details about the case on social media on Thursday, announcing the arrests of the child’s mother and boyfriend.

Officers responded to an unresponsive infant at a home in the 500 block of Vance St. on July 26.

The neighborhood is located on the city’s north side, near Newland Station. When police arrived, they discovered the two-month-old had died.

“The Jefferson County Coroner’s Officer determined that 2-month-old Ezra Johnson died due to methamphetamine toxicity,” the report stated.

The mother of the child, Lisa Marie Johnson, 31, is under suspicion for first-degree murder. Johnson’s boyfriend, 33-year-old Alexander Avila, is facing the same charge.
