On Sunday, February 2, 2025, deputies from Harris County Constable Precinct 2 responded to a family disturbance call at a home in the 12000 block of Back Bay Ridge Way in southeast Houston.
The incident involved a custody battle between Dr. Jihad Mohamad Harmouche, an obstetrician-gynecologist in Webster, Texas, and his estranged wife.
According to deputies, the complainant was staying with her sister and brother-in-law for safety, along with her 7-year-old son.
She claimed that Harmouche showed up unannounced at the house and attempted to take the child. When confronted by the homeowner and told to leave, Harmouche became enraged.
The complainant claimed that Harmouche had been aggressive and controlling for four years, subjecting her to multiple physical assaults and death threats.
She went on to say that Harmouche once threatened to pour acid on her. Instead of obtaining acid, he poured alcohol on her.
Because of the nature of the threats and ongoing harassment, deputies contacted the Harris County Attorney’s Office, who accepted a harassment charge against Harmouche.
A protective order was also sought for the complainant.
Harmouche was arrested on the scene and taken to the Harris County Joint Processing Center before being booked into Harris County Jail.
