Taylor Swift’s relationship with Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce appears to be strained.
The world’s biggest music star and Travis Kelce have been in a highly publicized relationship for about 18 months. Swift has attended several Chiefs games during their relationship, including the last two Super Bowls.
Amidst rumors that Kelce will soon propose to the Grammy Award-winning singer, a new stunning report from Matthew Acton of Radar Online indicates that trouble is brewing in their relationship.
According to the report, Swift was advised to “Kelce the boot for the sake of her global brand,” and they were both “told to keep their careers separate from their relationship.”
A source told Acton the following:
“Up until now, Taylor and Travis have been the ultimate power couple, shining together in the limelight.
But whispers are swirling that maybe they’ve hit a bit of a snag. Apparently, her team is worried they’ve been overselling the relationship. Sources say it’s been a tough pill for both of them to swallow, leading to some pressure to keep their work lives separate…
Now, her team’s advising her to lay low for a while, and it’s got to sting a bit, like a sense of guilt she hasn’t earned. This whole situation is creating a weird tension between her and Travis, especially since this is their first real bump in the road.
Until now, it’s been nothing but good times! You can only imagine the awkward discussions happening behind the scenes about when it’s appropriate for them to be seen together and how they’re supposed to act. Definitely not the romantic vibe they were hoping for!”
Only Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift, and their close friends know what’s going on. Any high-profile relationship between two celebrities is bound to be difficult, particularly in the age of social media. Nonetheless, most observers believe Kelce and Swift have done well.
Swift was booed at the Caesars Superdome after being shown on the jumbotron by the pro-Eagles crowd during Super Bowl 59, and she appeared stunned by the reaction. That, combined with the Eagles’ 40-22 rout of the Chiefs, made for a difficult weekend for the power couple.
Travis Kelce Is Returning For Another Season
Kelce didn’t immediately commit to playing another year of football after the Super Bowl, but the 35-year-old announced last week that he will return for his 13th NFL season.
The future Hall of Famer agreed to a two-year contract extension with Kansas City last year, but he needed more time to commit to the 2025 season. Kelce’s injuries and age have taken their toll, as he missed the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the second year in a row.
But Kelce was not going to let his Hall of Fame career come to an end with the Super Bowl 59 blowout loss. He’ll give it one more shot for a fourth championship ring in 2025.
