An inmate died after a medical incident at an Ohio jail

OHIO — A 27-year-old inmate at the Cuyahoga County Corrections Jail died Thursday night from a medical emergency.

Nathan Kinney collapsed while taking part in recreational activities at the facility, according to Cuyahoga County Press Secretary Jennifer Ciaccia.

Corrections and medical personnel responded quickly, providing medical care before transporting him to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Kinney was booked into jail on charges of felonious assault and aggravated burglary.

On December 28, 2024, police from the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority arrested him.

Kinney’s death remains under investigation.
