Minnesota Governor and former vice presidential candidate Tim Walz will make two stops in Ohio next week as part of a national town hall tour of Republican-held districts.

Walz will be in Youngstown on Monday, April 7, for a town hall meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. EDT. A second event will be held in Lorain, Ohio, on Tuesday, April 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. EDT. Attendees who RSVP at least 24 hours before each meeting will receive the exact location of both events.

The events are organized in response to local Republican representatives Michael Rulli (OH-6) and Bob Latta (OH-5), who have not held public town hall meetings in their districts.

Ohio Democrats say the meetings are intended to allow residents to express their concerns and hear directly from party leadership.

Walz launched the tour in response to reports that Republican leaders were discouraging lawmakers from holding in-person town hall meetings.

He responded publicly, stating that if GOP members do not meet with voters, he will.

The tour began in Iowa and will stop in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Ohio. Walz’s campaign team says the goal is to reach out to voters in districts where Republican representatives have avoided public engagement.
