Authorities say an 18-year-old guy was shot to death during the Prunedale sideshow

An 18-year-old Salinas man was shot to death during a sideshow in the unincorporated village of Prunedale on Saturday night, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 10:25 p.m., the sheriff’s office and the California Highway Patrol began receiving calls about a person who allegedly was shot during a sideshow near Prunedale Road South and Blackie Road.

Officers from both agencies responded to the scene and discovered a man with gunshot wounds, according to the sheriff’s office.

According to the sheriff’s office, the man was taken to the hospital and died as a result of his injuries.

The sheriff’s office identified the victim as Adrian Puga of Salinas.
