Brr, It is cold in here: This city in Washington costs the most to heat the house

Like much of the rest of the country, Washington State is bracing for freezing winter weather warnings. Weather warnings are being issued in the Oregon Cascades, and I-90 interstates are being closed due to dangerous snowstorms.

Pipes will burst, HVAC systems will fail, car batteries will die, and people like me will turn up the thermostat in the house to 70 degrees. It’s not surprising that the Midwest (Ohio, Missouri) has the highest winter heating costs.

Washington Cities That Have the Highest Home Heating Costs

Surprisingly, Seattle, which uses Puget Sound Energy for electricity and gas, is not even among the top ten most expensive cities to heat a home during the winter. Given that Seattle is the most expensive place to live in Washington, I would have expected them to be near the top of the HomeGnome.com rankings. But nope!

If you want to live in a city in Washington State with the lowest heating bills (besides Seattle), consider Redmond, Kirkland, Bellevue, Renton, or Vancouver. The photo gallery below features a list of the most expensive cities.
