When Harry Fath married Linda in 1970, he earned $100 per week as a lawyer.
He then purchased his first apartment building with six units to manage as a side business, but it would quickly grow into a real estate empire.
Fath Properties now owns over 7,500 apartments, making it one of the region’s largest apartment owners.
The Faths’ real estate portfolio grew, but they were not interested in extravagant spending sprees or opulent homes.
They saw their growing wealth as an opportunity to benefit not only Greater Cincinnati but the entire world.
No specific moment prompted them to give, but as their net worth increased, so did their desire to give.
“Marriage to a woman who is on board with me is the most important thing.” Some people go out, and when they make a lot of money, they buy a large yacht or six homes.
“We’re just not interested,” Harry Fath explained. “If you want civilization to continue, you have to step up and make it a better place.”
