Cincinnati police: 11-year-old among three discovered dead inside home following SWAT standoff

The Cincinnati Police Department has succeeded in determining the identities of the three bodies that were found inside a property in College Hill.

This identification came about as a result of a confrontation that lasted for several hours.

Patricia McCollum, who was 78 years old, DJ McCollum, who was 32 years old, and Cadence McCollum, who was 11 years old, were found dead with stab wounds inside a property that was located on the 1000 block of Springbrook Drive, according to the police. Patricia McCollum was among the victims.

Following what the police described as “an unknown trouble,” officers were sent to the property on Thursday morning, just before 8:30 a.m., in reaction to the situation.

The moment they came, they found that there was a male adult inside who was armed with a knife. This was discovered as soon as they arrived.

The adult male, who has subsequently been identified as Anthony Mathis, 66 years old, was taken into custody and sent to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with self-inflicted stab wounds.

This occurred after several hours of discussions had taken place. It was later stated that Mathis passed away as a consequence of the injuries he sustained.
