Daughter accused of stabbing mother to death is legally charged

A Middletown woman accused of fatally stabbing her mother is now facing formal charges.

Butler County Common Pleas Court records show that Mekeshia Lattimore, 44, faces charges of two counts of murder and two counts of felonious assault on Wednesday. She was also arraigned Wednesday.

On October 30, authorities arrested Lattimore for allegedly fatally stabbing her 72-year-old mother, Minnie Lewis.

As previously reported by News Centre 7, Middletown police responded to the 600 block of 14th Avenue on Oct. 30 after receiving reports of a stabbing.

When they arrived at the scene, they discovered Lewis with stab wounds. They transported her to Atrium Medical Centre, where they pronounced her dead.

Lattimore remains in the Butler County Jail. The court has scheduled her return for a competency evaluation hearing on January 15.
