A Florida man already in jail is facing additional jail time after allegedly attempting to carry out a hit on a fellow gang member.
Jebea Johnson, 22, has been in the Flagler County Jail since June for burglary and attempted robbery with a deadly firearm.
Deputies discovered a series of phone calls between Johnson and his family members about a month ago in which he attempted to persuade one of them to post a message on social media that would put a hit on a man who wanted to leave the gang, according to a press release from the agency.
According to deputies, Johnson and the victim had been serving time in jail together. According to police, Johnson attempted to recruit the man into the Kutt Throat Committee prison and street gang, but the victim chose to leave.
Apparently upset, Johnson allegedly had a family member post a message on social media with “coded gang language” that would signal outside members to murder the victim.
Detectives spoke with family members, who confirmed there was a message posted on Johnson’s behalf but were unaware it had a different meaning. Law enforcement stopped the alleged plot before it could be carried out.

“This guy thought he could order a hit from the Green Roof Inn without us catching him,” Sheriff Rick Staly said in a statement. “Not only did we know the lingo he was using, but we have the conversation recorded, so this dirtbag will be staying right where he is for a very long time and wins the award for dumbest criminal of the week.”
Cops added charges of solicitation to commit first-degree murder – gang-related and illegal use of a two-way communication device.
Johnson was originally arrested for allegedly attacking a convenience store clerk during an attempted armed robbery. He is still in the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility without bond.
