CINCINNATI — Cincinnati police say they are still investigating the case of a woman whose remains were discovered in two locations in North Fairmont.
Makaila Luckey’s dismembered remains were discovered on two different dates: November 2023 and January 2024.
“I just wanted to say that we’re still looking for justice for Makalia, and hopefully we’ll get the answers we need. Just keep Makalia’s family in your prayers,” said her sister, Jadelyn Luckey.
Since Makalia’s remains were discovered, police and her family have been looking for answers.
“We have new information that she frequented Stanley Row in the West End neighborhood. We know she had relationships with some people in that building.
“So we need anyone who has had contact with her to come forward and provide us with that information,” said CPD Sgt. Frank Beaver.
Jadelyn also claims Makaila frequented Stanley Rowe Towers.
“I am confident that someone down there knows what happened to my sister. I’ve known she was in that area for a long time. I also know she lived down there for about two or three years.
I am not sure of the time frame, but someone definitely knows what to do there, and it’s getting to the point where we don’t want to lose hope or have her case go cold,” Jadelyn said.
Jadelyn says she never stops thinking about her sister.
“It’s just heartbreaking for me and my family. We’ve been through so much, and this was a huge loss. “A terrible loss for us,” Jadelyn stated.
Makaila’s dismembered body was discovered in North Fairmont on November 5, 2023, when a resident found her torso on Baltimore Avenue.
The discovery prompted multiple searches in the area for additional body parts, as well as the beginning of a highly complex investigation.
According to the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office, Makaila’s head was discovered near her torso in January of last year.
“We need the public’s help in this case. Sgt. Beavers stated, “It appears that the longer these cases drag out, the fewer tips you receive.”
Makaila’s sister, Jadelyn, says she hopes the case will be resolved soon.
