SAN JOSE — Well-known car company has set up shop in Santana Row in San Jose. This is the latest addition to a mixed-use neighborhood that has been getting a lot of new renters.
Porsche Cars North America opened its first Porsche NOW store in the United States. It is located at Santana Row, which is a popular spot with restaurants, shops, businesses, homes, entertainment venues, and hotel rooms.
Porsche NOW is a new way to buy high-end cars that lets people connect with the Porsche brand.
The new Porsche NOW store in San Jose had a soft opening on Tuesday. It is called a “pop-up location.” The store is at 355 Santana Row, close to the Hotel Valencia.
John Cappella, Chief Operating Officer of Porsche Cars North America, said, “With Porsche NOW we saw an opportunity to inspire new and existing customers in the middle of a thriving, busy area of San Jose full of restaurants and stores. Making it easier for them and giving us the creative freedom to show off our amazing new cars.”
The pop-ups have a configuration room and an electric Porsche car inside.
The store also puts together events that are chosen by the staff, like cooking classes.
People will also be able to talk to the cars and store employees. Either a Macan Electric or a Taycan would be on show.
The new Porsche NOW shop is owned by Porsche Stevens Creek, which is part of Penske Automotive Group.
Five people work at the new Porsche NOW store in San Jose. Porsche Stevens Creek said that’s enough help for the store.
In the city of Laguna Beach in Orange County, a second Porsche NOW site is being planned. It will open in December.
As of late, Santana Row has been busy with a string of leases and tech growth in two of the office buildings in the mixed-use hub:
— Cisco Systems is moving some employees and operations from San Francisco and north San Jose to Santana Row. This will make the tech giant more visible in the mixed-use area.
— Couchbase, an AI company, has rented 23,700 square feet in One Santana West, a new office building on South Winchester Boulevard that is right next to Santana Row.
— The professional services giant PwC Group has rented 141,000 square feet at One Santana West.
— One Santana West has leased 29,000 square feet to Acrisure, a banking company that is growing quickly.
The official opening date for the new Porsche NOW store in Santana Row wasn’t known right away.
Cappella said, “By combining parts of the local community and Porsche’s history, we were able to bring a new perspective that improves the customer experience beyond the vehicles.”
