In the fatal Butler County crash, a 21-year-old Hamilton man was identified as the victim

The Butler County Coroner’s Office has revealed the identity of a young man who died in a vehicle accident on Sunday.

The office reported the death of Austin McGuire, a 21-year-old Hamilton resident, at the scene of the crash on U.S. Route 127 near Filtration Plant Street.

According to Cincinnati.com, the incident occurred just before 6 a.m., when McGuire’s Mitsubishi SUV veered off the right side of the road and crashed into a tree.

Deputies clarified that they are still investigating the accident’s cause and have not yet determined why McGuire lost control of the vehicle.

Adding to the available information, the Journal-News reports that speed and alcohol may have played a role in the fatal event.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team is conducting a thorough investigation to determine the definitive cause of the crash.

Meanwhile, Sheriff Richard Jones confirmed to FOX19 that deputies, along with St. Clair Fire and EMS, responded to the emergency call around 5:50 a.m.

The coroner ruled McGuire’s death an accident, citing head trauma as the cause. However, it is unclear whether drugs or alcohol had a definitive role in the crash.
