"It is going to get f---ing ugly": Man shoots ex-girlfriend after she tells him they need to go 'their separate ways' during Chili's encounter, cops say

An enraged ex-boyfriend in San Antonio, Texas, shot his former lover four times — blasting her in the groin, hip, abdomen, and back while she was fleeing him — after she told the man they needed to “go their separate ways” after a dinner meeting at Chili’s, according to police.

Isaac Rivas, 26, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for the late-night shooting on Wednesday that left his 26-year-old ex-girlfriend in the hospital with life-threatening injuries over the weekend, according to local CBS affiliate KENS.

The woman’s identity has not been revealed, and her condition was unknown Monday.

Rivas’ arrest affidavit, obtained by KENS and local ABC affiliate KSAT, alleges that he shot his ex after she told him it was “now time to go their separate ways” after a dinner meeting at Chili’s Grill & Bar.

According to police, the two had been meeting up as friends at least once a week for the past few weeks after deciding to end their relationship together.

The two of them met and ate at Chili’s before she allegedly informed them that they needed to end their night and stop seeing one another. The female victim was driving Rivas in her truck when she asked him where he wanted to be dropped off, which irritated him.

“It’s going to get f—ing ugly if you don’t take me where you’re going,” Rivas allegedly told the woman, according to his affidavit.

Fearing for her safety, police say the victim drove into the Nite Owlz Bar at 1843 Rigsby and darted inside. Rivas allegedly followed her and demanded that she return to her vehicle, prompting the woman to brandish a bottle of pepper spray, which malfunctioned.

Rivas allegedly asked her if “she was going to do something about it” — referring to the situation and his demands to return to the truck — to which she declined and apologized.

After leaving the Nite Owlz Bar and returning to her vehicle, the woman attempted to flee from Rivas with her back to him. He allegedly opened fire on her 11 times, hitting her with at least four rounds.

Rivas attempted to flee the scene afterward, but was apprehended by police along with his mother, who drove to the location and allegedly picked him up. He was booked into the Bexar County Jail on Friday and is expected to appear in court this week.
