Kentucky Flash Flood Warning Extended: Life-Threatening Flooding in Christian, Muhlenberg, Todd, and Trigg Counties

Paducah, KY – A Flash Flood Warning has been extended for several counties in south-central and western Kentucky, as heavy rains continue to pose a threat to life. The warning now extends to Christian, Muhlenberg, Todd, and Trigg counties until 8:15 p.m. CDT.

Paducah’s National Weather Service reports severe flooding as a result of heavy rains last night and this morning.

Between 5 and 8 inches of rain have already fallen, with more expected tonight, raising the possibility of flash flooding. The ongoing storm threat has rendered several roads impassable, and it will continue to affect urban areas, highways, and local underpasses.

Residents in the affected areas, which include Hopkinsville, Oak Grove, Cadiz, and Fort Campbell, are advised to avoid driving on flooded roads. Popular tourist destinations such as Turkey Bay and the Land Between the Lakes Area are also at risk of flash flooding.

Emergency officials stress the importance of turning around when encountering flooded roads.

Flash flooding continues to be a significant threat, with continued rainfall and water accumulation expected to cause extensive damage. Authorities advise residents to remain vigilant and stay indoors until the storm passes.

Residents should pay attention to local weather alerts and avoid any unnecessary travel.
