Kentucky Weather Alert: Freeze Warning in Louisville Monday and Tuesday Nights

Louisville, KY –  Following a soggy weekend in Kentucky, a significant drop in temperatures will bring freezing conditions to much of the state, including Louisville, beginning Monday night.

The National Weather Service in Louisville predicts that rain showers will end late Sunday evening, with patchy frost possible in the state’s south.

Monday will bring drier weather and a slight warmup, with highs ranging from 55°F to 60°F.

However, by Monday night, temperatures are expected to drop to between 25°F and 30°F, prompting a freeze warning in central Kentucky.

Tuesday will be clear but chilly, with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s. Another round of subfreezing lows is expected Tuesday night, ranging from 27°F to 32°F.

Residents should protect sensitive vegetation, outdoor plumbing, and pets from the cold. While April freezes are not uncommon in Kentucky, this week’s consecutive freezes may have an impact on early spring planting efforts.

Drivers should also exercise caution during early morning commutes, as frost on roads and windshields can cause minor hazards.

The National Weather Service will continue to monitor conditions and issue any necessary advisories until Tuesday night.
