Last SSDI payment in November: Social Security confirms paydays before 2025 COLA increase comes

The COLA increase means that SSDI recipients will receive 2.5% more from the Social Security Administration (SSA). However, none of the November or December payments will include the cost-of-living adjustment increase.

Only Supplemental Security Income, a benefit for people with disabilities, will provide the COLA increase this year, on December 31, 2024.

The last SSDI payment of the month will be sent on the 27th. Keep in mind that there are several requirements to be eligible for this Social Security Disability Insurance payment in the United States.

Requirements to get SSDI on November 27:

Social Security will send checks or direct deposits to:

  • disability insurance recipients who qualified for this payment after May 1997
  • disability recipients who do not receive Supplemental Security Income
  • disability recipients whose birthday is from 21-31

Of course, you must remain eligible because any improvements in your disability must be reported. This will undoubtedly have an impact on your eligibility. So, notify SSA as soon as an important change in your condition occurs. The average payment amount is $1,542, with a maximum of $3,822.

Social Security paydays for SSDI in December

If you received Disability Insurance benefits before May 1997, your payday is on December 3. However, there is another way to qualify if you received benefits after that date.

However, you must receive both SSDI and SSI benefits at the same time. In this case, you will receive your Supplemental Security Income payment on November 29 and your Disability Insurance check on December 3, 2024. Then there will be three additional rounds of Wednesday payments.

The way Social Security arranges paydays is determined by your birth date, as was the case with the November 27 payment. Thus, retired workers with disabilities whose birthdays range from 1 to 10 receive money on December 11.

If you were born between 11 and 20, your birthday is December 18. Or December 24 if you were born between 21 and 31. Those eligible for retirement, SSDI, or SSI payments will receive the COLA increase with their January payments.
