Local Rescue Introduces Fiesty 4-Month-Old Chihuahua Mix Looking for His Forever Family

Sandy Paws Rescue Inc., a dedicated foster-based rescue in Massachusetts, has recently introduced Raphael, a tiny 4-month-old Chihuahua mix looking for his forever home. This little pup, who is currently being fostered on Martha’s Vineyard, weighs between 8 and 9 pounds and is expected to remain small in size into adulthood.

Despite his small stature, rescue workers report that his personality is anything but small. Handlers describe him as “feisty” with a natural tendency to assert himself among other dogs, reminiscent of his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle name.

According to Sandy Paws Rescue, Raphael is “always ready for adventure, he loves to run, play, and wrestle with other pups”. They also observe that after periods of activity, he frequently seeks out his humans to rest. “When he tires himself out, his soft and snuggly side makes a quick appearance and he will happily curl up with you for a nap.”

Raphael has demonstrated compatibility with other household pets and children. “He would love to live in a home that will provide him with plenty of playtime and training to help him develop into the best dog he can be. “He gets along with other dogs, cats, and children,” says Sandy Paws Rescue. Raphael is also up to date on vaccines for dogs his age.

Potential adopters should be aware that Raphael is currently residing on Martha’s Vineyard, and interested parties must arrange travel to the island for meetings and adoption. Sandy Paws points out that personal vehicles are not required for ferry transportation to the island.

Sandy Paws Rescue Inc., based in Massachusetts, is a volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to giving dogs a second chance in life through their foster-based rescue program.

Their mission spans multiple states, rescuing dogs from shelters, abuse situations, and owner surrenders in Massachusetts, as well as assisting strays from Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Without a physical shelter, their rescued dogs are cared for in loving foster homes and kennels while they wait to be adopted.

Sandy Paws Rescue Inc., a nonprofit organization, relies entirely on the dedication of volunteers who combine rescue work with full-time jobs. Their motivation stems solely from the joy of matching dogs with loving forever homes.

Sandy Paws Rescue, a nonprofit that relies on donations, incurs significant costs in their mission, such as transportation, veterinary care, and daily necessities for their rescued dogs. The adoption fees they collect only partially cover these high costs, so community support is critical for their continued operation.
