Police say that a guy from San Jose was arrested on felony vandalism charges after shooting at businesses and people’s cars with BB guns.
Police say that between September 21 and September 26, at least 10 reports of broken windows from shots were made. It was thought that the shots caused more than $21,700 in damage.
“We are very fortunate that no one was injured during these events and continue to encourage our community to report suspicious activity,” police said on Monday.
The police were able to find a suspect with the help of surveillance film and license plate readers.
Around 9:40 a.m. on Friday, police arrested the suspect outside of the Bank of America in the Pruneyard Shopping Center. Police said they searched his car and found a black.44 magnum imitation BB gun on the floorboard on the driver’s side and a bottle of BBs that was only half full in the center console.
The suspect, 19-year-old Frank Vincent Ramos Jr., was taken to the Santa Clara County Jail on charges of felony property damage and willful discharge of a BB gun in a very careless way.
The police said that Ramos has since paid his bail. It wasn’t clear right away when he would go to court to face the charges.
