Robbert, a 42-year-old Virginia man, was arrested by Utah authorities and later charged with tampering with a witness, child endangerment (5 counts), and failure to register as a se* offender in connection with the incident last week.
Authorities say the defendant hosted a party for children aged 10 to 12. During the party, the defendant from Virginia allegedly played games with the boys, encouraging them to remove their clothes and engage in inappropriate behavior.
During the investigation, authorities discovered that one of the victim’s parents was aware of the defendant’s past but continued to allow him around his two children.
During an interview with investigators, the children’s father, who was not identified, reportedly stated that he had known the defendant for nearly a decade, during which time he revealed his criminal history as a se* offender.
The unidentified parent also told investigators that he believed his friend had “addition to viewing child sexual abuse material.” The parent also told investigators that the defendant had lived with his family for the previous 7 months and that he would occasionally pull his children out of school.
During an interview with investigators, the unidentified father revealed that the defendant had recently admitted to him that he had been grooming the two children. The father also stated that he now regrets ever believing the defendant and allowing him to be around his children, L&C reported.
During the investigation, authorities discovered that the defendant hosted a ‘party’ for children aged 10 to 12 years old. During the party, the defendant suggested the boys play games. One of the games, dubbed the ‘touch your body challenge’ by the defendant, required players to remove their clothes and engage in indecent behavior.
The 42-year-old defendant, a registered se* offender with a 2005 se-ual battery conviction, also warned the children not to tell anyone about what happened at the party because he would be arrested. The 42-year-old defendant is currently being held without bond because authorities believe he may be a flight risk.
