A Hubbard man pleaded guilty in court Thursday morning in connection with a fatal accident in May.
Dylan Vrancich, 26, pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide and two counts of OVI misdemeanour.
A fatal one-car crash occurred shortly after midnight on Colonial Drive in Liberty Township on May 17.
According to Ohio State Highway Patrol reports, Vrancich was driving when his car lost control and collided with a utility pole, causing the vehicle to catch fire.
Vrancich escaped with minor injuries, but his passenger, 41-year-old Nicholas Thompson of Youngstown, died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.
Vrancich had a blood-alcohol content of 0.21, which was more than double the Ohio legal limit for driving.
Vrancich faces a mandatory prison sentence ranging from two to twelve years. He also faces a possible lifetime driver’s license suspension.
Judge Rice will sentence Vrancich following a background check conducted by probation officers.
