Authorities in Delaware and Maryland are looking into a chilling case in which the dismembered body of Tracy Nyariki, 31, was discovered in the car of a suspect identified as 32-year-old Norbert Matara.
The discovery comes after Nyariki vanished from her Newark, Delaware apartment, leaving her employer and neighbors concerned.
A Disturbing Discovery
Nyariki, who lived in the 2700 block of Stone Place, was reported missing last Friday after not showing up for work for several days.
When New Castle County police visited her apartment, they discovered concerning evidence, prompting them to issue an alert about her disappearance.
The investigation quickly identified Matara, described as Nyariki’s acquaintance, as a person of interest.
Officers tracked his vehicle to Aberdeen, Maryland, where they found the missing woman’s dismembered remains around 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Matara was discovered nearby and immediately taken into custody.

Neighbors in Nyariki’s apartment complex are grappling with the tragedy.
“I saw the police here since Saturday, so I just figured it was something regular,” said Nyier Rickes, a resident. “This is just a really sad thing to know about. I hope her family gets peace and understanding .”
