New Diddy rape claim targets 'male and female celebrity' at the 2000 VMAs

Six new cases have been filed against Sean “Diddy” Combs. One of them goes a step further than the others in trying to hold some of the music mogul’s famous friends responsible for the alleged sexual abuse and other bad behavior that happened at his famous parties.

Deadline and TMZ reported that Combs raped a 13-year-old girl at a party he held in 2000 with the help of an unnamed “male and female celebrity.” The woman who filed the lawsuit in federal court in New York is now 37 years old.

The rape happened at a party he threw after the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards, which were held that year at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. This is one of the more specific parts of the 19-page document.

As expected, the reference to the 2000 VMAs has led to a lot of speculation online about who the two unnamed celebs could be. Many people are angry that the accuser and her lawyer are not going public with their names.

In court papers, the plaintiff was named Jane Doe. She said that on September 7, 2000, she tried to get into the awards show but failed, according to TMZ. She said that while she was waiting outside of Radio City Music Hall, a Combs driver saw her and brought her to the party.

She said she was attacked after she went to an empty bedroom to lie down because a drink she had been given made her feel “wired and dizzy.”

The filing told Deadline that soon after, Combs and two famous people, a man and a woman, came into the room. “Combs walked up to Plaintiff with a crazy look in his eyes, grabbed her, and told her, ‘You’re ready to party!'”

According to Deadline, Combs, who was 30 at the time, reportedly “threw” the girl toward another male celebrity, who was named Celebrity A. Celebrity A then took off the girl’s clothes.

The claim said that Celebrity A held Plaintiff down and raped her while Combs and Celebrity B, a woman, watched. “Combs then raped Plaintiff while Celebrity A and Celebrity B watched after the male celebrity was done.”

It was also said in the complaint that Combs tried to make the claimed victim have oral sex with him but she hit him in the neck to stop him. The woman told them she got out of the room and had her dad pick her up from the party.

When Page Six wrote about the lawsuit, they included a picture of Combs with Jennifer Lopez, who was his date to the 2000 VMAs. The picture did not name any people. Lopez wore what E! News called a “iconic look” to that year’s VMAs: a white cropped tank top, pants that matched, and heels. At the time, she was a rising singer and star. Lopez won the best dance video award that night.

Lopez and Combs were in an allegedly unstable relationship from 1999 to 2001. During that time, they made waves at a number of high-profile events, such as the 2000 Grammys, where Lopez wore another iconic look: a green Versace gown with a very low back and a very high slit.

When the couple was caught leaving a Manhattan nightclub after a shooting that hurt three people in December 1999, they were the subject of bad news stories and an investigation by the NYPD. The New York Post reported that Combs was tried for the killing in 2001 but found not guilty by a jury.

Lopez is one of many famous people who are getting a lot of attention for being seen at the record producer’s expensive parties with lots of other famous people. Most of the time, celebrities like Usher, Justin Bieber, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mariah Carey, and Ashton Kutcher haven’t said anything about their friendship with Diddy, the sex abuse claims against him, or his arrest on September 15 on federal charges of sex trafficking and crime.

Combs has pleaded not guilty to the federal charges against him and is being held at the dreaded Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn because he was not allowed to get bail.

Jay-Z and Beyoncé were the first famous people to respond. They called for singer Jaguar Wright to retract and apologize for his “totally false” words on Piers Morgan’s show “Uncensored,” according to the BBC. Wright called the couple “monsters” and made it sound like they knew about what he was doing, but no proof has been shown to back these claims.

The lawyers for Jay-Z and Beyoncé said that connecting the couple to Combs’ alleged behavior was “defamatory.” Morgan apologized and said that Wright’s words would be taken out of the interview, according to the BBC.

Deadline reported that the new case, which names two unnamed celebrities, is one of six filed on Sunday and one of twelve filed by Houston attorney Tony Buzbee on behalf of victims, both men and women. In the cases, claims of rape, false imprisonment, and sexual harassment from 2000 to just two years ago are made.

Page Six reported that Combs’ downward fall began in November 2023, when his ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura sued him, saying he had raped, sex trafficked, and abused her physically during their ten-year relationship.

Page Six also said that Combs settled the case with Ventura the next day, even though he rejected her claims at the time. But Ventura’s case set off a chain reaction of abuse claims against Combs. Dozens of others have since come forward, many of them saying the attacks happened at his parties with famous people.
