Fort Worth, TX – A Freeze Watch is still in effect for several counties in western North Central Texas, with subfreezing temperatures expected from late Sunday night to Monday morning.
The National Weather Service predicts temperatures as low as 29°F in Montague, Cooke, Young, Jack, Wise, and surrounding counties.
The freeze could affect cities like Decatur, Mineral Wells, Nocona, Weatherford, and Stephenville, among others.
The cold snap poses a threat to sensitive vegetation, as frost and freeze conditions could harm crops and unprotected plants. Outdoor plumbing is also at risk if not properly secured.
Residents are advised to protect their plants and plumbing by covering or moving them indoors.
Local farmers and gardeners are being urged to prepare for crop damage as the region braces for a late-season freeze.
