PD: Teen gets four years in imprisonment for shooting shots that disrupted football games

According to North College Hill Police, a teenager has been sentenced to four years in juvenile detention following two incidents in which shots were fired near a school or school function earlier this year.

Police have sentenced the teen to four years in a juvenile detention facility until he turns 21.

On September 13, the same day officers responded to a call reporting shots fired during school dismissal at North College Hill High School, they arrested the teen.

Prior to that, the same teen fired shots near a North College Hill vs. Cincinnati Country Day football game, bringing it to a halt in the third quarter.

According to North College Hill police, someone fired ten shots near an apartment complex across the street from the stadium on Bising Avenue. The game’s guests said WCPO players heard the shots first and took cover.

Both incidents resulted in no injuries, but the gunfire near the football game had long-term effects on North College Hill students.

Miami Valley Christian Academy, North College Hill’s next opponent, cancelled the game the week after the nearby gunfire, declaring they would not travel to the area to play.

The school also announced the rescheduling of its homecoming game against Summit Country Day School from Friday night to Saturday morning.

Greg Conwell, the football coach at NCH, described the shots fired near the game as an unfortunate incident, but he felt that opponents’ cancellation or rescheduling of games “punished” NCH student-athletes.
