Police said a husband and wife were caught after stealing hundreds of dollars worth of makeup from Texas drug stores

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — If you wanted foundation, blush, or lipstick, this couple probably had it in bulk.

According to the Plano Police Department, a married couple is facing several charges after being arrested for stealing $85,000 in merchandise from Texas stores.

Officers with the College Station Police Department received a tip from Plano Police around 6 p.m. Wednesday that Maria and Emmanuel Stoican, a married couple suspected of stealing from several stores in Texas and other states, were on their way, according to the department.

According to a Facebook post, the CSPD stationed officers at several Walgreens locations in the area and observed the couple drive into the store off William D. Fitch Parkway. According to the CSPD, officers then arrested the couple.

According to police, officers recovered 882 stolen items from Walgreens alone, totaling nearly $10,000. According to the Plano Police Department, the couple stole a total of $85,000 from Walmart, Target, and CVS stores in 10 different cities.

Photos from the College Station Police Department revealed that a large portion of the stolen goods were makeup products.

According to Plano Police Department, a detective became aware of the couple’s actions in January after receiving information about them hitting multiple stores in North Texas. From there, the detective identified the suspects using theft bulletins from an arrest in Moore, Oklahoma.

Maria Stoican was found to have seven active warrants in Texas, Illinois, and California. Here’s the complete list of her warrants, according to the CSPD:

  •     Burleson Police Department – Theft of property greater than $100, less than $750
  •     Euless Police Department – Theft of property $750 less than $2,500
  •     Grapevine Police Department – Theft of property $100 less than $750
  •     Harris County Sheriff’s Office – Theft of property $100 less than $750
  •     Rockford Police Department (Illinois) – Shoplifting
  •     Sacramento County (California) – Warrant
  •     Will County (Illinois) – Retail theft

Officers also discovered Emmanuel Stoican was wanted by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office for theft of property worth $100 to $750, according to CSPD. He will also be charged with marijuana possession, according to College Station Police.

The couple took their two children, an infant and a two-year-old, with them during the thefts, according to police. According to the CSPD, Child Protective Services has taken the children into custody while their parents face these charges.

CSPD said their investigation is ongoing and multiple agencies are involved.
