Probationer Caught in Missoula With 21 Bags of Meth

On January 7, 2025, Tribal Investigators received confidential information that 39-year-old William Pablo may be in possession of dangerous drugs.

Pablo was on probation, had a history of drug possession, used methamphetamine, and was a frequent visitor to the Gray Wolf Peak Casino.

Investigators went to the casino to find Pablo and contacted Probation and Parole to inform them of their investigation. Probation and Parole authorized a search of Pablo if they made contact.

Once at the casino, investigators were unable to contact Pablo. However, after leaving the casino, investigators were looking for Pablo’s vehicle.

At 10:58 p.m., an Investigator observed a vehicle matching that description enter the casino parking lot, drive to the entrance, drop off two female passengers, and then park. The driver matched Pablo’s description.

Investigators Identify the Driver

Investigators stopped behind the vehicle, approached the driver, and positively identified him as Pablo. Investigators informed Pablo that Probation and Parole had authorized a search of him, and Pablo agreed to the search.

Tribal officers arrived at the scene and helped with the search for Pablo and his vehicle.

Investigators discovered an Altoids mint container, a pill crusher, a black zipper case with a bottle of liquid, a syringe, and a hollow pen tube with white residue on the interior walls in Pablo’s vehicle’s center console.

Inside the mint container, there were several small Ziploc baggies containing methamphetamine.

These items were shown to Pablo, who stated that they were his. Investigators questioned Pablo about the container and its contents, and he admitted it was methamphetamine.

Clear Intent to Sell

Investigators opened the container and discovered 21 small Ziploc baggies containing methamphetamine, each with a number written in ink on the outside, which appeared to be pricing, as the number corresponded to the amount of substance contained.

The Missoula County Sheriff’s Office was then contacted to conduct an additional investigation, and Pablo was taken to the Missoula County Detention Facility.

According to court documents, the evidence discovered in Pablo’s vehicle was seized and documented.

During inventory, the weights of each bag were estimated and taken on a department scale, with the bags included in the overall weight, which included the following:

  • 10 bags, marked with “10”, weighing approximately .5 grams ea.
  • 1 bag, marked with a “15”, weighing approximately .6 grams ea.
  • 6 bags, marked with a “20”, weighing approximately .7 grams ea.
  • 2 bags, marked with a “30”, weighing approximately .8 grams ea.
  • 2 bags, marked with a “50”, weighing approximately 1 gram ea.

Pablo is currently being charged with felony criminal possession with intent to distribute and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $100,000.
