Senator Grassley acknowledges that President Putin is a murderer and a war criminal and that Russia invaded Ukraine

Last week’s conversation from the Oval Office of the White House in Washington, D.C. ended on a dramatic note.

President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met for nearly an hour, with US Senator Chuck Grassley believing that the first 50 minutes were spent very seriously by the two leaders attempting to end Ukraine’s three-year war with Russia.

However, Grassley believed that the last five minutes, during which Zelenskyy appeared upset and abruptly exited the White House, could have been avoided.

Grassley emphasizes that Russia invaded Ukraine and expresses his views on Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Putin murders all of his political opponents, he is a dictator, he kidnaps Ukrainian children, he bombs hospitals in violation of international law, and the International Court of Crimes has labeled him a war criminal.” I find it difficult to support Putin.”

Grassley admits that he met with President Zelenskyy in a hotel near the White House prior to the Ukrainian President’s meeting with Trump, and that one of the senators in that meeting suggested that there be no television cameras in the Oval Office to allow for a more candid discussion.

He goes on to say that he supports Ukraine because he respects the country’s decision to give up its nuclear weapons in 1994, as well as the Budapest Agreement between the US and Russia, which guaranteed Ukraine’s sovereignty.
