Chicopee, Massachusetts – Senator Ed Markey of Massachusetts has spoken out following President Trump’s address to Congress on Tuesday night in Washington, D.C.
Markey discussed his plans to block President Trump’s agenda during a virtual meeting. Other Massachusetts Democratic Party members participated in the call as well.
Senator Markey expressed optimism about his ability to defend democracy from Washington, D.C. He added that the goal will remain to advance technologies such as wind and solar battery storage, as well as electric vehicles.
“I’m voting against every single Trump nominee,” he claims. “The department of energy and EPA and all the other energy agencies, it’s not a cabinet, it’s just a cartel they are putting together.”
The senator also thanked Boston Mayor Michelle Wu. She testified before Congress on Wednesday during a hearing on sanctuary cities. Markey intends to defend Mayor Wu’s plan to protect migrants.
