She stated she shot him all over': Texas lady charged with murder after gunning down man she claims kidnapped her

According to police, a woman in Texas has been charged with murder for allegedly shooting down a man who she claims attempted to drug and kidnap her earlier this year near a winery.

According to local NBC affiliate KXAN, a winery manager informed a 911 operator that suspect Amy Lejeune had been drugged and kidnapped after the March 15 slaying.

“She said she shot him all over,” the operator allegedly stated.

Lejeune, 45, a Montgomery resident at the time, told police she had recently met 49-year-old victim Lance Reid, a Houston native, and the two of them were getting ready to go on a weekend trip together when he allegedly attacked her in a car they were driving in Fredericksburg.

“On Friday, March 15, 2024, at approximately 12:42 p.m., the Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office, Fredericksburg Fire & EMS, and the Stonewall Volunteer Fire Department responded to a 911 call where a woman said she was kidnapped and drugged, and that she had shot someone,” according to a police statement from that time.

Her whereabouts were briefly unknown until they were discovered to be near a winery on the 10800 block of East U.S. Highway 290. The woman was able to describe the vehicle with which she was associated, as well as the weapon used.”

Deputies reported finding Reid dead in the front seat of the car, with Lejeune standing outside and nearby. Following the shooting, she allegedly fled to the winery and requested that the manager contact the police. It is unclear whether the weapon used belonged to Reid or Lejeune.

“We don’t really know, other than what she’s telling us, what happened during their travels,” Gillespie County Sheriff Buddy Mills told KXAN in March.

Investigators now believe Lejeune was the one with the deadly intentions. She was charged with murder on October 8 and released on October 15 on a $100,000 bond, according to jail records. She is scheduled to appear in court on January 9.
