Sister of murdered Robertson County woman granted protection from her nephew

On February 4, the Hamilton County Court granted Judith Marshall and her family a Civil Stalking Protection Order against her nephew, Truitt Fields. The order is effective until October 16, 2029.

The initial petition for the order was submitted on October 16, 2024.

Marshall claims that Truitt Fields, the brother of her niece Torilena Fields, threatened to kill his mother, Trudy Fields, before her murder.

The petition also states that Marshall believes Fields is armed and dangerous.

Judge Alison Hatheway, who presided over the case, issued the protection order after determining that Truitt Fields had made multiple threats of physical harm to family members, harmed them, held them against their will, and assaulted them.

Torilena Fields is charged with murder, abuse of a corpse, and other offenses in connection with the death of her mother, Trudy Fields, on October 9th, in Robertson County.

According to the arrest citation, police discovered a dismembered body in the grass, as well as blood on the back porch and near the door.

The citation also stated that drag marks were discovered in the grass leading from the residence to the body.

While Truitt Fields has not been charged in connection with the murder, Marshall expressed concern that the case will result in further contact and threats from Fields.

According to court records, Torilena Fields’ sister, Telby Fields, filed a petition for an emergency protection order in Kentucky against their brother, Truitt Fields, on October 11.

“My mother was butchered by my sister under his advisement,” Telby Fields wrote in the petition.

Judge Heather Fryman of the 18th Judicial Circuit Family Court granted the emergency protective order when the petition was first filed, but at a later hearing, Judge Fryman stated that there was insufficient evidence to continue the order.

The current Ohio protection order requires Truitt Fields to stay away from the Marshall family and not interfere with their personal business.

Fields is also prohibited from initiating or maintaining contact with the family, or directing any third party to act on his behalf, in violation of the order.

Fields, who lives in Calipatria, California, received the initial petition for the protection order on October 29, 2024, from Calipatria Police.
