Teenager accused of attempted car theft resulting in UC student death found guilty

Nearly six months after a University of Cincinnati student was killed while trying to steal his car, one of the two teenage suspects was found guilty of trying to take it.

Ben Addison, who was 21 years old, was shot and killed in March on Highland Avenue in Mount Auburn while he tried to stop two people from getting into his car.

Franklin saw someone break into his car outside of his friend’s Mount Auburn apartment while he was walking back from a night out with friends, according to Addison’s family.

The police said Addison was killed by gunfire while she was trying to stop them. The teen who was accused of killing him denied the charges against him in court this summer.

That defendant, Justin Dugan, who is 18 years old, was found to be able to stand trial for murder in adult court.
