Texas Kidnapping Suspect, An Illegal Migrant, Arrested In Oklahoma After Threatening To Sell Victim’s Organs

Texas—  A Honduran man is in custody in Oklahoma, accused of kidnapping a woman from her Texas apartment on Christmas Eve and threatening to sell her organs. He faces multiple charges in both states.

The terrifying ordeal began around 4:45 a.m. on Christmas Eve in Haltom City, Texas, as a 22-year-old woman left her apartment complex on her way to work.

Police say she was approached by a masked man armed with a gun, who forced her into the backseat of her own car and forced her to withdraw money from an ATM.

The suspect, 35-year-old Eduardo Javier Ordonez Godoy, then drove the victim’s car 22 miles to the Camden Apartments at 3900 Grapevine Mills Parkway in Grapevine, where she was temporarily restrained. She escaped, but the suspect fled in her vehicle.

The victim was able to contact police and give a description of her car and kidnapper. The stolen vehicle was entered into law enforcement databases, along with a note emphasizing the violent nature of the crime.

Less than 24 hours later, Godoy was apprehended in Oklahoma City after an alert patrol officer discovered the stolen vehicle in a parking lot.

Godoy was found inside the vehicle and arrested. Evidence relating to the kidnapping was also found.

Haltom City detectives went to Oklahoma City to interview Godoy. After being read his Miranda rights, he admitted to his role in the kidnapping.

According to arrest affidavits, Godoy drove around with the victim for an hour, making terrifying threats to “sell her organs” or “prostitute her.”

Godoy also admitted to tying the victim’s hands to a tree with her shoelaces. He claimed his only goal was to obtain money, but detectives were struck by his demeanor during the interview.

“He smirked a lot, giggled, and, you know, was almost proud of what he did,” Haltom City Police Sgt. Rick Alexander told local FOX 4 news.

Police say Godoy has a history of similar crimes and has been deported to Honduras.

“He says he’s only a thief. “He wants money,” Alexander explained. “But, you know, in this case, clearly he went beyond that and brought a firearm into it.”

Godoy is currently facing several charges in Oklahoma, including both felony and misdemeanor offenses. He is also charged with aggravated kidnapping and robbery in Haltom City.

Godoy is being detained by ICE because of his immigration status.
