Fort Worth, TX – A brief but sharp cold snap is expected across the Texas Panhandle and western North Texas tonight, with temperatures in Cisco, Graham, and Gainesville dropping to or just below freezing.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, rural and low-lying areas west of U.S. 281 are most likely to experience freezing temperatures, with a 60-90% chance of overnight lows reaching 32°F.
A Freeze Warning and Frost Advisory are still in effect for parts of the western counties, including areas near Bowie, Breckenridge, and Cisco.
Frost is expected until Monday morning, and residents are urged to protect sensitive plants and vegetation. The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is expected to remain slightly warmer, with lows around 37°F.
Following this chilly night, North and Central Texas will transition to a warm and pleasant spring pattern.
High temperatures will reach the 70s and 80s by Tuesday and remain there through Saturday in major cities such as Dallas, Waco, and Killeen.
Rain is not expected to fall across the state this week. Residents should exercise caution tonight, but can expect a period of mild, dry weather—ideal for outdoor activities and travel throughout the region.
