Little Rock, AR – A tornado watch has been issued for parts of Southeast Arkansas, Northeast Louisiana, Northern Mississippi, and Southwest Tennessee.

The watch is in effect from 4:50 PM CDT on Saturday, April 5, 2025, until midnight CDT.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the main threats are the possibility of a few tornadoes, potentially severe ones, and scattered damaging wind gusts of up to 70 mph.

Additionally, some areas may see large hail up to 1.5 inches in diameter.

Thunderstorms are expected to move northeastward across the affected areas into the evening hours as low-level wind profiles intensify in a moist and unstable air mass, increasing the risk of severe weather.

The watch area is about 50 miles east and west of a line that runs from 75 miles north-northeast of Tupelo, Mississippi, to 25 miles southeast of Monroe, Louisiana.

Residents in the tornado watch area are urged to remain vigilant against rapidly changing weather conditions. Keep an eye on weather updates and be ready for potential warnings or additional advisories.
