Two people were killed when a home exploded near Cincinnati on Tuesday morning.
The blast was captured on a neighbor’s doorbell camera. It sent debris flying across the street and into neighboring yards.
According to fire crews, the home exploded shortly before 9 a.m. in Tate Township, Ohio. That’s approximately 45 minutes east of downtown Cincinnati.
Police said the couple who lived in the house were killed, and a man working inside was injured.
Their next-door neighbor said he ran outside when he heard the explosion and saw what appeared to be a war zone.
“Seen a gentleman running from the residence that was currently working inside the residence, it’s shocking,” according to Derrick Gullett. “Barry and Helen were nice people.” “He was a Vietnam vet, and she was as sweet as can be.”
The neighbor stated that the man working inside said he was repairing the home’s furnace when it suddenly popped and exploded.
Firefighters are still investigating the cause of the explosion.
