Two of the 27 underperforming Kohl's stores in the area are closing

Two Kohl’s stores in the Tri-State will be closing in the coming months.

According to the Kohl’s website, the Blue Ash store on Hunt Road and the Forest Park store on Cincinnati Mills Drive are expected to close by April.

They are among the 27 stores that the retailer claims are underperforming.

“We always take these decisions very seriously,” stated Tom Kingsbury, Kohl’s CEO.

“As we continue to build on our long-term growth strategy, it is important that we also take difficult but necessary actions to support the health and future of our business for our customers and our teams.”

Employees were notified and offered severance or the opportunity to apply at other stores.

Even after the closures, Kohl’s will still have over 1,130 locations nationwide.

The Hunt Road location is in a strip mall which also saw a Big Lots store close.
