Once 2024 is over, the January payments for 2025 will reveal some key updates for the United States’ Social Security Administration (SSA). These changes include critical updates to the benefits that will be distributed in 2025.

For your information, the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) is expected to increase by 2.5%. This COLA update will have a direct monthly impact on SSA recipients, improving their financial situation.

It is estimated that retirees will see an average increase of $50 in their monthly checks. However, this increase in income will also benefit other beneficiaries, resulting in significant financial gains for many.

Rise in Social Security payments and SSI

Starting January 3, 2025, those receiving Social Security Administration (SSA) benefits will see an increase in their monthly income.

Individual beneficiaries’ monthly payments will increase from $1,927 to $1,976 as a result of the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA). While eligible married couples will see an increase from $3,014 to $3,089 per month.

Individuals with disabilities will also see significant increases, with benefits rising from $2,757 to $2,826 per month. Individuals will receive an average SSDI check of $1,542 in 2024. So, by 2025, it could be worth $1,580.

It’s important to note that deposits vary from person to person. This variation is determined by factors such as number of years worked and age of retirement, particularly for pensioners.
