Weather Alert for the Bay Area Partially cloudy with a chance of showers and gusts before clearing by midweek

People in the Bay Area can look forward to a break from the recent crazy weather. The National Weather Service in Cleveland says that high pressure will build up in the middle of the week, after a cold front and a trough that has been there for a while.

NWS Cleveland says that today’s cloudy skies will change to mostly cloudy skies later today. As the upper-level low moves slowly eastward, only a few showers are predicted.

The weather is going to get better with daytime heating, which is some relief for people who want brighter skies.

On the other hand, a cold front is coming through on Tuesday. It will bring showers, thunderstorms, and strong winds, mostly along the I-75 region.

With 20 to 25 knots of deep layer shear and only a little instability, wind gusts could hit 30 to 40 mph.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, these reports show that the season so far has been marked by cooler, wet weather.

There will be a fair amount of action in the short term, but things will be much calmer from Wednesday night through Thursday night.

“Fair weather is expected Wednesday through Thursday night as stabilizing subsidence accompanies the aforementioned ridge at the surface and aloft,” the NWS says.

This change marks the start of a more stable trend, with daytime highs in the 60s to 70s and mostly clear skies. This could be a break for outdoor activities and ease any worries about bad weather that may still be there.

The weather forecast for flying is mixed. To begin, IFR levels should get better as the day goes on.

Tonight, though, the weather is more likely to fog up, especially in Northwest Ohio and Central Ohio. This could temporarily make it harder to see.

This is the last night that pilots and travelers can get ready for non-VFR circumstances.

As the cold front moves closer, the water on Lake Erie could become rough. Dense fog could form before the moving easterly cold front, which could cause waves of 3 to 6 feet and possibly call for another Small Craft Advisory.

Looking ahead to the weekend, another cold front could bring a few showers on Friday, but after that, the weather should be nice because a high is building from the Upper Midwest.

As we move into October, the weather report tells us to expect the usual changes that come with fall. For now, layers and raincoats are still important parts of our daily wardrobe.
