Former Senator Sherrod Brown and his wife are relocating out of Cleveland

Sherrod Brown, the former Ohio senator, and his wife, Connie Schultz, will soon leave Cleveland.

Schultz, a columnist and teacher, announced on her Substack page that she and her husband are relocating to the Columbus suburb of Bexley. She explained that it is to be closer to their grandchildren.

“We are a public couple who have lived much of our lives openly, so there will be the usual political speculation about why we are willing to make this move.

I’d like to get ahead of that nonsense, if only briefly,” Schultz wrote. “Five of our eight grandchildren reside in Columbus. If we live there, we will see them more frequently, and they will spend more time with their visiting cousins. We adore our grandchildren and want to be a larger part of their lives.”

Senator Brown lost his bid for a fourth term in the United States Senate to Republican Bernie Moreno.

He made it clear when he left office in December that he intends to remain in politics.

One full year before the first-in-the-nation voting contest for nominating who will take on incumbent Donald Trump, White House aspirants braved dangerously frigid temperatures this week to make their presidential pitch on hallowed political ground. “Sherrod and I felt it was time for a change. We, like so many of you, are banding together to tackle the challenges ahead. “This move will anchor us,” Schultz stated.

The move will also shorten Schultz’s commute to Denison University, where she teaches journalism.

“This is a significant move for me. I have spent almost my entire life in northeastern Ohio, the majority of it in the Cleveland area. It is the city that launched my journalism career, and the one I have insisted on calling home through every major change in my life, which has been numerous,” wrote Schultz. “Cleveland will always be the pulse of my heart.”

While Brown has yet to announce his next move, staying in Columbus could be advantageous if he decides to run for governor in 2026.
