Pinole man shot after chasing burglars in car

Police say that a man from Pinole was shot early on Friday morning as he attempted to pursue an intruder who had broken into his home.

It was at 5:30 in the morning when the guy discovered a person wearing a mask breaking into his garage, according to a press release issued by the Pinole Police Department.

According to the police, the man challenged the intruder, who attempted to flee to a vehicle that was parked in front of his residence in the 3200 block of Estates Avenue. The car contained additional suspects who were inside.

It was reported by the police that the suspects fled in their own vehicle, and the man after them in his own vehicle.

At the conclusion of the pursuit, which took place in the 2300 block of Simas Avenue, one of the suspects opened fire, hitting both the guy and his vehicle, according to the police. After being shot, the man went down in a collision.

After being transported to a nearby hospital, the man was reportedly listed as being in stable condition, according to the police.
