A 17-year-old girl was caught by the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force on Tuesday. It had been more than three months since she is said to have shot and killed a Sonic Drive-In manager when she tried to pay for food with fake money.
In Dallas, Adiah Namir Roberson was caught. There is evidence that she killed 33-year-old Daniel Shrewsbury on July 7 at a San Antonio Sonic.
Police say that around 9:30 p.m., Roberson, Joshua Albert Joseph, 28, and a woman went to the fast food restaurant in northwest San Antonio.
When the group reportedly tried to use fake money, the manager, Shrewsbury, spoke to them. The group bought food with real money in the end, but first they took money from a cup. He followed them outside as they left to take a picture of their license plate.
The driver, Joseph, got mad and told Shrewsbury that he was going to be shot. That’s when Roberson is said to have pulled out a gun and killed the boss.
The suspects ran away from the scene. Joseph and Roberson were given an arrest warrant on July 16 for murder and forgery of a government document. A month later, Joseph was caught by marshals. There is a list of the 10 “Most Wanted” people in Texas made by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
After he was arrested, Joseph told reporters, “I’m sorry for the actions of someone who was with me. None of that should have happened.” “That person chose something they shouldn’t have.”
Police say the second woman in the group is only there to watch what’s going on. The police didn’t say how they found Roberson in Dallas.
Peggy Cofield, Shrewsbury’s mother, wrote on the tribute page for her son’s death notice that he loved his job as a Sonic manager and his workers.
He was funny and made everyone he worked with happy. They all loved him a lot, she wrote.
Cofield said that her son was always ready to help out.
“I will miss Daniel’s big, beautiful smile and laugh forever.” “Everyone loved the beautiful hazel brown eyes my son had,” she wrote.
