Memphis, TN – A Flood Watch remains in effect for Memphis, Tennessee, and the surrounding areas until Sunday morning, as heavy rainfall threatens flooding in low-lying areas.
The National Weather Service issued an alert on Friday, warning of excessive runoff from anticipated rainfall, which could cause rivers, creeks, and streams to overflow.
According to the National Weather Service, the watch affects parts of East Arkansas, North Mississippi, and Western Tennessee.
Cities such as Memphis, Jonesboro, and Jackson, Tennessee, may experience flooding, including street flooding and rising water levels in creeks and rivers.
Residents in flood-prone areas are advised to remain vigilant and monitor updates, as conditions may worsen overnight.
While the watch is in effect until Sunday morning, flood warnings may be issued if conditions worsen further.
