It was made public by the Social Security Administration (SSA). Now we know for sure that there will be a big change in how much some SSDI users get paid. Do not worry if you do not know; it is just a small change in the plan that will be good.
Most of the time, people who get both SSI and Social Security Disability Insurance get their money on the third. People who started getting Social Security before May 1997 also get it on the third. But it won’t be sent on November 3 because that’s a holiday and banks and SSA offices are closed.
First SSDI payment in November ahead of schedule
Those on SSDI who are due a payment on the third will get their November check on the first. This means that people who normally get paid on the third will get paid on November 1. To get it, you need to:
- be on SSDI and do not break any rules
- remain eligible, that is, you still have a disability
- be receiving SSI and SSDI simultaneously or
- have started receiving disability benefits before May 1997
If you started receiving disability benefits after April 30, 1997, you will receive one of the Wednesday payments. Of course, as long as you are not receiving Supplemental Security Income too.
SSDI Wednesday payments in November
If you get SSI or SSDI on November 3, you will get paid again three times. Anyone born between November 1 and November 10 will get paid on November 13. It doesn’t matter what month their birthday is in.
People who get Social Security Disability Insurance and whose birthday is between November 10 and November 21 will start getting a monthly payment from Social Security on November 20.
Lastly, if your birthday is between July 21 and July 31, you will get another Disability Insurance payment. This time, it will be sent out on November 27, 2024, a Wednesday.
The 2025 COLA increase is not part of any of these payouts, though. People with disabilities won’t be able to get COLA until January 2025.
