Cincinnati police say a woman died after being discovered unresponsive in Mt. Airy Forest overnight.
At 12:28 a.m., police discovered Lanyah Dawson, 20, lying in the middle of the street on Trail Ridge Road with a gunshot wound. The street winds through the heart of Mt. Airy Forest.
This came after officers received a report earlier in the night of a body lying in the middle of the road. Entrances to Mt. Airy Forest were blocked off Saturday morning while police investigated.
It is not known what led up to the shooting or how long the woman was lying on the street before being found. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cincinnati Police Homicide Unit at 513-352-3542.
